Meet Kristin Louk

Kristin Louk has worked as a creative in the advertising and branding industries for over 20 years. One of her favorite pursuits is cultivating quirky, conceptual ideas both in writing and design.

After mothering her son and thus reading a bounty of children’s books, she found that she had her own story to tell. Born blind in one eye, Kristin learned early on to work with what is and refrain from comparing herself to others. Smiley the Sloth and Tizzy the Tomato entered her mind as the perfect ambassadors to share that message with children.

Kristin is the author and illustrator of Smiley’s Quest. When she’s not doodling or wandering about mumbling lines and mulling over new rhymes, she enjoys playing golf with her family. Kristin lives in beautiful Orange County, California with her husband and son.
